Dan Stevens and Alison Brie to star in Dave Franco-directed horror-thriller film The Rental

Dan Stevens (Legion, Downton Abbey) and Alison Brie (GLOW, Community) will star in the horror-thriller The Rental, the directorial debut of The Disaster Artist actor (and Brie’s husband) Dave Franco, EW has confirmed. The film centers on two couples who rent a vacation home for what should be a celebratory weekend get-away, according to Deadline, which first reported the news.

In front of the camera, Franco recently had a supporting role in Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk; he portrays Montgomery Clift in brother James Franco’s Zeroville, and stars in Michael Bay’s upcoming Netflix movie 6 Underground.

Franco’s most recent credits as an actor are If Beale Street Could Talk and The Disaster Artist. Brie starred in the latter film as well as Glow and The Post, and Stevens is coming off Legion and Beauty and the Beast while Vand’s credits include A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and Argo and White’s include Shameless and Homecoming.

The Rental costars Sheila Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, the upcoming Snowpiercer TV show) and Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) and starts shooting next month in Oregon. Franco wrote the script with director Joe Swanberg (V/H/S, Drinking Buddies).
