Dan Aykroyd Guests On 'The Conners' For A 'Blues Brothers 2000' Reunion

Cast From The Past

This week, ABC is pushing #CastFromThePast, setting up casts from classic shows and films to have reunions in shows that the actors are currently on. Girlfriends reunited on black-ish, Charmed on Grey's Anatomy, and Cheers on The Goldbergs. Another major reunion took place on The Conners when Dan Aykroyd guest starred, staging a Blues Brothers 2000 with his former costar, John Goodman.

A 'Blues Brothers 2000' Reunion

Aykroyd showed up as a poker buddy of Dan's who advises another friend on how to best lie to his wife.

"That's because your lies suck. You know where I am right now? At the ER with a friend. Spotty signal and I can't really talk right now because at this very moment I'm pressing my hand against his carotid artery to prevent him from bleeding out."

Dan responds, "That's a lot of work to stay in a bad marriage. My hat's off to you." Classic sitcom banter!

Fans Loved It

Fans loved seeing Elwood Blues and Mighty Mack McTeer back onscreen together, tweeting out their approval of Aykroyd's performance, even if the material was a bit rote.

"@dan_aykroyd fits into this show like a glove! #TheConners"

"These lies can't possibly be really working on his wife! What? But I love seeing Dan Aykroyd #TheConners"

They may not be on a mission from God, but the chemistry is still there!
