'Damn Strait'! Country music star Scotty McCreary to play Fond du Lac County Fair in July. Tickets are on sale now.

FOND DU LAC — It's county fair headline announcement season, and tickets are already on sale for Friday night.

The first-announced performer of the 2024 Fond du Lac County Fair will be country music star Scotty McCreery, who will take on the grandstand July 19.

Just before the announcement, McCreery had released the single "Love Like This" Feb. 8, but his career since 2011 resulted in five studio albums, two compilation albums, two extended plays and 10 singles.

After winning the 10th season of American Idol, he released his first single, followed by his debut album, "Clear as Day," all in 2011. The single hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart before reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and being certified platinum.

His most popular songs, according to Spotify, are "Five More Minutes," "It Matters to Her" and "Damn Strait."

Tickets went on sale Feb. 14 on the Fond du Lac County Fair's website. The cost is $100 for VIP tickets, which includes fair admission, parking and two drink tickets; or $35 general admission tickets, which include covered seating at the grandstand or standing room on the track behind VIP.
