Dakota Fanning got a living, breathing wrap gift from costar Kurt Russell when she was a kid.

The actress, now 30, joined her Ripley cast mate Andrew Scott for ELLE's "Ask Me Anything" video series, during which she was tasked with revealing the "best wrap gift" she ever received.

"Kurt Russell gave me a horse," Fanning said with a laugh. Scott, 47, joked, "That could be your autobiography [title]. ... 'Kurt Russell Gave Me a Horse: The Dakota Fanning Story.' "

Fanning explained of working with Russell, now 73, on the 2005 movie Dreamer, "We made a movie about horses. Kurt is one of the loveliest, most amazing people. You go through an experience together, and I loved working with him so much, and we made a movie about horses, and he gave me a horse."

Dreamer, about a father-daughter duo who bond over helping an injured race horse heal, also starred Kris Kristofferson, Elisabeth Shue and David Morse.

As a child star, Fanning worked with other major stars like Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro and more. She said in the ELLE video that she didn't get intimidated by them since it became normal for her.

"Because I grew up familiar with being around people who would be considered 'intimidating' kind of, I think it might've numbed that side of me a little," she said. "When you're 8 years old you're sort of just getting to know a person as a person and not thinking about all of the other stuff, you know?"

Back in 2005, Russell told MTV News about asking Fanning's parents for permission to gift her a horse. The outlet reported that Fanning named the animal Goldie, a nod to Russell's longtime partner Goldie Hawn.

"I went to her mom and dad and told her what I really wanted to do was get her a horse. I wanted to make sure that was okay with them — it was a big commitment for the whole family," he said at the time. "But I've seen her with the horse and it's a great thing."
