Her Experience with Filming The Rise of Skywalker

As the trilogy concluded, Ridley was able to reflect on her experiences throughout filming. To the actress, she claims that she had the most fun in the latest installment, "The Rise of Skywalker."

For Ridley, the ability to show highly contrasting emotions and work with countless people made her recent acting role the most memorable. "The third one for me was the best,” Ridley said in a Marie Claire interview.

“It’s a big film for everyone. I did all of the emotions: I did frowns, I did smiles, it was the sort of biggest breadth, and I think that’s also why I had such a good time, because I got to do so much—like, physically, emotionally—and I got to work with so many people."

Protecting and Shielding Family First

With her newly found fame, there unfortunately comes with the risks of dealing with fans that take things too far. But for Ridley, it was never about her own personal security and the implications that were associated with her success.

She was dead set on trying to protect her family and shielding them from fans and the media. "I was so aware of how difficult [fame] was for them, I wasn’t actually dealing with how difficult it was for me"

It took only one incident in 2017 to change that perspective, though. Ridley shared the frightening moment when a fan followed the car that she and her family were traveling in, leading to some tense moments and a terrifying encounter.

A Scary Moment When a Fan Aggressively Came After Her

After noticing that a fan was following the car, Ridley felt it was in her best interest to exit the vehicle so that her family could be safe. She didn't expect what would happen next.

As she began to walk briskly to her New York hotel room, the fan got out of their own vehicle and began to follow her down the street. Ridley recounted the event sharing, "He is a really big guy, so physically he’s scary, and I was alone, and it was the middle of the night, so I started shouting at him because I was scared."

She was able to eventually get to the hotel safely, but Ridley says that she was able to use this incident as a wake-up call that she needs to take care of her own safety needs and well-being first.

Ridley's Fight to Maintain Privacy

It has definitely been a learning process for Ridley as she's acclimated herself to being a famous actress, at least when it comes to publicity.

Still, she prefers to keep her personal life as private as possible, explaining that she's an introvert and prefers not to have random interactions with people, let alone, delve into details of her life, as she's aware that there's already so much information about her that is known. This has led her to even delete her personal Instagram page.

"I’ve never talked about my personal life," she said. "So, I won’t talk about it now. I’m so aware of how much information about my life is out there.”
