Dada Life Bring the Basics to the Deep End on ‘Red Is The Color Of Rage’: Exclusive

Are Dada Life maturing? These strange friends who were “Born to Rage,” who taught us that the only rule in life was that there are no rules at all, are they becoming more sophisticated? Well, champagne has always been a drink for the fancy, but with the duo’s latest track, “Red Is The Color Of Rage,” we feel like we’re seeing the act from a whole new angle.

“Red Is The Color Of Rage” is actually a rather deep track. It’s not the shiny, bright, bombastic sound of the past. It’s haunting and almost subdued. It’s all the bass and grit the duo has ever served, but it’s coming in a dastardly new form. Where did this come from? Well, apparently, it comes from years ago, way back, at the very beginning.

“We wanted to go back to some of the sounds and feelings we used when we first started making music together as Dada Life,” the duo says. “We’ve recently been listening back to lots of older tracks and demos of ours, and it inspired us to create something in that vein. This track is all about capturing that feeling!”

Maybe you’ll hear it and be overwhelmed with nostalgia. Maybe you’ll hear it and be ushered into the future. Whatever you feel, when you listen to “Red Is The Color Of Rage,” you’re going to move your body. Listen to the premiere below.
