Denise and her husband, Jarid, say their 10-year-old son, Zak’s, behavior is out of control. They claim that Zak has been showing signs of aggression since age 4 and that his anger and daily temper tantrums have become progressively worse since he was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder two years ago.

“When Zak’s mad, he gets very strong,” says Jarid, noting that his son has bitten Denise and punched her in the face.

Denise says, “Zak has gotten so violent, three different times I’ve had to call the police.”
“We have tried to discipline Zak,” she continues, “but it will just make him even more angry.”
The couple says it requires the whole family, including Jarid’s parents, Brad and Carol, to stop Zak’s aggressive behaviors.
