A New Dad’s Outfit Change Went Viral & He Clearly Understood the Assignment

A man on TikTok was prepared to be a new dad in more than just mind, body, and spirit. He was ready to be a new dad in closet.

And yes, that’s the sentence I’m sticking with. (You’ll understand in a second.)

New mom Amber Caetana posted two videos on TikTok yesterday of her husband reporting for dad duty. “Anyone order a father?” her husband Royce asked, walking into the hospital room after changing out of hospital scrubs.

His outfit change was as epic as it was cringe. He walked in with his hands in the pockets of his knee-length jorts (held up by a brown belt, of course) before he quickly moved them to his hips and did a side lunge. He was also outfitted in a white collared polo T-shirt, a vintage baseball cap, white tube socks, and white New Balance sneakers.

“Bro is ready with the dad starter pack 💀,” said the top comment with more than 118 thousand likes.

Because, WOW. He understood the assignment of what it means to become a father. All fashion sense goes out the window and aggressive public stretching is suddenly a-okay.

“If you listen closely, you can hear the Home Depot theme song playing in the background,” someone wrote, making us realize that yes, Royce looks like every single dad in a Home Depot right now.

“Whole outfit bought with Kohl’s Cash 😩😂,” another person joked.

The video quickly went viral, and so did Amber’s other one where Royce is walking out of the hospital with their newborn in a car seat.

“Walked in a husband, walked out a straight up dad,” she wrote over the video that she captioned, “he’s been waiting to do this since we first found out we were pregnant 🤣 it’s the new balance 608’s for me LMAO.”

“Every dad jealous about those CRISPPPPP New Balance 😂,” one person commented because it really is the dad-est of the shoes.

Jokes aside (and believe me, they go on and on … and on), followers loved these heartwarming clips. “Awww his excitement he said dad fit ✅.” Because even if the look is cringe, the thought that went into it is so endearing.
