Emmy-winning actor Dabney Coleman is dead at 92.
"My Father, Dabney Wharton Coleman, took his last earthly breath peacefully and exquisitely in his home on Thursday May 16th, 2024 at 1:50 PM," his daughter, Quincy Coleman, told TMZ.
Quincy's message continued: "My father crafted his time here on earth with a curious mind, a generous heart, and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity. As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery."
As of writing, his cause of death has not been announced.
Dabney Coleman was one of those actors that no matter what he was in, he was simply brilliant.
He made being a jerk an art form and often times, carried the movies he was in.

Coleman's acting career spanned six decades, including '80s films like 9 to 5, Tootsie and On Golden Pond. Additionally, he was known for his roles in Buffalo Bill and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. More recently, he portrayed John Dutton Sr. in Yellowstone.
Some of his earlier work included appearances in TV shows such as Dr. Kildare, The Outer Limits and Ben Casey in the '60s and That Girl and The Fugitive in the '70s.
In 1987, Coleman won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Special for his role as Martin Costigan in Sworn to Silence.
Fans of Coleman's work took to social media to react to the news of his death. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Dabney Coleman was one of those actors that no matter what he was in, he was simply brilliant. He made being a jerk an art form and often times, carried the movies he was in. This town lost a legend."

Meanwhile, his daughter, Quincy, told The Hollywood Reporter: "A teacher, a hero, and a king, Dabney Coleman is a gift and blessing in life and in death as his spirit will shine through his work, his loved ones and his legacy...eternally."
