DaBaby has been accused of scamming a YouTuber out of $20,000 after failing to complete a taping for a dating game show.
On Sunday (April 14), Lah Mike, a YouTuber looking to pit various celebrities against 20 women in a speed-dating contest, took to social media to make the allegation against the hitmaker.
“DaBaby ran of [sic] with 20K I paid him for a video,” Lah Mike wrote on Instagram. “Please don’t scam me bro. This is my livelihood. I don’t even have a full video.”
However, Mike Lah proceeded to plead with DaBaby to return and complete the video that he had booked him to participate in. “I’ll fix whatever you need, bro,” the content creator promised. “Please come finish the video… Please don’t f**k me over.”
Mike Lah’s Instagram post included a photo of himself standing next to DaBaby, as well as footage of the rapper exiting the scene while appearing displeased with the conduct of some of the crew members on set.
Shortly after, DaBaby would respond to Mike Lah with his own video, confirming that he did leave the set while implying that the situation could’ve become more hostile if he hadn’t managed to control his temper. “I ain’t run off ni**a, I walked off,” the North Carolina rapper said. “You know why too ni**a. Be glad that’s the way it went & tighten up.”
The “Shake Sumn” creator also accused Mike Lah of “lying on” his grandmother in response to the YouTuber claiming that half of the $20,000 DaBaby received was put up by his great-grandmother, who Mike Lah says is currently battling cancer.
“You a sick little dude,” the 32-year-old said.. “People probably believe in this twenty-versus-one sh*t like this sh*t is for real, like you don’t be paying these girls to do this.” While the rapper said that he would not return the $20,000 to Mike Lah, he promised to give the 20 women slated to participate in the video $1,000 each for their humiliation at Mike Lah’s hands.
“You got people playing with my name, like I came and just robbed you,” DaBaby continued. “This what we gonna do: I’m gonna take the $20,000 that you gave me for my time…and I’m gonna give $1,000 a piece to them twenty girls that you paid to let a lame ni**a like you disrespect them, for that little YouTube check.”
Mike Lah has yet to respond to DaBaby’s claims.
