G.O.O.D. Music artist CyHi the Prynce is currently on a press run for his upcoming album, No Dope on Sunday. On Thursday, the Atlanta rapper stopped by the Complex offices for a special episode of Facebook Live. During the interview, CyHi discussed the upcoming album and shared plenty of stories from his extensive past work with Kanye West and the rest of the G.O.O.D. collective.
Most recently, CyHi's name popped up in the credits for Drake and Kanye's "Glow" collaboration, which was featured on Drizzy's More Life playlist. "At first when 'Ye played it for me I was like, 'Oh this is nice,' but Kanye kinda already knew where he wanted to go with it," CyHi said. "I just helped them, I'm just in there like, 'I like the way you said that, or I think you should go up on that.' It was just a fun process on that song, but there were more songs that they did. It's a bunch of them and if they put them together it will be incredible." Even more, CyHi revealed that Drake and Kanye sound great together on the tracks and "Glow" was an instance where he could see the joint project working.
CyHi also revealed that Kanye is in good spirits at the moment and spending time with his family. "What's crazy is, he's like super nice now. I don't even like that (laughs)," he said. On Kanye's new music, CyHi said it's sounding so crazy that 'Ye brought the large speakers from the studio and put them in his crib.
With plenty of big things happening within G.O.O.D. Music, we of course had to ask CyHi about the long-awaited Cruel Winter, which he revealed was "really done." "To be all the way honest with y'all, it's really done. The thing is, it's so many superstars, to get everybody on one accord and moving at the same time is tough," he said. "We got enough to put a Cruel Winter, Cruel Summer, Cruel Autumn, and Cruel Spring out." We can only hope all of these records see the light of day.
While CyHi is known for collaborating with a lot of artists, his upcoming debut album is finally on the way, and with the buzzing single "Nu Africa" out now, he's planning to let the project fly in the next couple of months. Features on the project are expected to be Big Sean, Travis Scott, Schoolboy Q, and more. You can watch the full interview above, where CyHi also dropped some gems about the Watch the Throne sessions and revealed a few great stories about hanging out with Jay Z and Beyoncé.
