Cris Cyborg shows she's one of the world's best champions, but what's next after beating Holly Holm?
LAS VEGAS — Cris Cyborg has long been one of the best female fighters in mixed martial arts. She entered her women’s featherweight title bout against Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 219 Saturday at T-Mobile Arena on an 18-fight winning streak that covered more than 12 years.
But because she’s so massive relative to her peers — she walks around between fights at 180 pounds — she often hasn’t been given credit for her technical skills. But in winning a unanimous decision over Holm on Saturday, by scores of 48-47 twice and 49-46, Cyborg proved that she’s not just a bruiser but also an excellent technical fighter who has the stamina to go five hard rounds.
