Cute Kid Crushes Whitney Houston Classic on ‘Showtime at the Apollo’

Showtime at the Apollo returned to Fox Wednesday night to celebrate 30 years of the amateur talent show being on TV. Steve Harvey came back to host the show, but the real star was 10-year-old William Alexander.

Steve asked whether Alexander had told any girls that he was going to be on TV, and William awkwardly laughed as he said “no.” Steve explained that girls are the reason to do stuff like sing and then said, “You don’t have any idea what I’m talking about, do you?” When William said that he didn’t, Steve added, “That’s ’cause you’re 10. But in 10 more years, it’ll drive every damn section of your life.”

When it came time for the little guy to sing, everyone was likely thinking the same thing: Please be good so you don’t get booed off of the stage! Luckily, William was great, as he belted out Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You.” And with everyone on their feet for a standing ovation, William finished the song and said, “Thank you so much, Apollo.”
