Cults Release New Single “Crybaby”
The New York alt-pop duo Cults has made a return to the industry with their new single “Crybaby”, which is being released on Imperial. The duo consists of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion. This is their first single in two years, and there are more to come from this splendid duo. The song comes with a music video too.
The song “Crybaby” portrays the film-like quality of the Cults’s music, mixing together symphonic bell tones, amazing tribal beats, and cacophonous guitar sounds. “Crybaby, you waste a lot of time it seems”, echoes Madeline with a lament. The song was co-written by Oblivion and Follin and Cults decided to produce it along with long-time cohort Shane Stoneback.

“‘Crybaby’ marks a new direction of exploration. We experimented with a lighter sound influenced by The Crystals, Joe Meek & Kraftwerk. A fun song but also a call out to both sides of codependency.” says Cults about their new single.
Cults has a very big fan base with about 1.5 billion streams and over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify. They get their fans mesmerized with their amazing music and all the four albums released by them were immensely loved by the audience. The track ‘Always Forever’ has gotten the RIAA platinum status, and the song ‘Gilded Lily’ has over 200K-plus “created” in 2022, in TikTok and has gotten a gold certification.
They have also made their appearance in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performed at Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza, and also had a national tour across Australia for Laneway Festival in 2012.
Cults is all set to hit the roads in the coming months starting from August, their first stop being Lollapalooza and they also plan to support Vampire Weekend in this spring.
