Cruella 2 Release Date Rumors: When is it Coming Out?
After a great origin story, Cruella 2‘s release date has been highly anticipated by many fans. Shifting its focus from the Dalmatians, Disney gave us a live-action Cruella story that showcased how a young girl named Estella became a huge fashion icon in London in the late 1970s. But when will she be back for a sequel?

Is there a Cruella 2 release date?
Cruella 2’s release date could arrive by 2025.
After the launch of the first film on May 18, 2021, Deadline quickly reported that Disney is developing a sequel with director Craig Gillespie, writer Tony McNamara, and Emma Stone, all set to return. But since then, things have been quiet.
At the 2022 Oscars, makeup artist Nadia Stacey revealed that the script for the sequel was in the works. Even in 2023, the project is still in its pre-production stage. Considering the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Cruella probably won’t begin filming before 2024.
So, we should expect it to get a 2025 release date as there are plenty of slots for Disney to fill throughout the year. Similar to the first film, Cruella 2 could take the May 23, 2025, slot that Disney has booked as that’s when the studio usually launches its live-action remakes. But there’s also a possibility for Cruella 2 to arrive much later if the strikes continue to prevail.

The story of the sequel isn’t known yet. But after the Baroness was arrested for murdering Estella, she could get out of jail to take her revenge on Cruella de Vil (Estella). So, besides Emma Stone’s Cruella, we should expect the return of Emma Thompson’s Baroness as well. Joel Fry’s Jasper and Paul Walter Hauser’s Horace Badun could also return. But whether the Dalmatians come into play remains to be seen.

Cruella 2 is expected to come out in the theaters most likely in 2025.
