The Crown is going to premiere its sixth and final season on Netflix this month, but the royal family better brace themselves for this controversial storyline. Besides having to relive the tragic events surrounding Princess Diana’s death in a car crash in Paris, the series is also revisiting an unproven rumor about her possible pregnancy at the time of her passing.

The pregnancy tale was started by Dodi Al Fayed’s father, Mohamed Al Fayed, so the story spread like wildfire even if he had no proof. The billionaire entrepreneur insisted that there were sinister motives behind the Princess of Wales and his son’s deaths. “The truth will come out one day. Evidence will show she was having a child by my son,” he told RadarOnline in 2022. “I believe Diana and Dodi were murdered because she was expecting a baby with a Muslim.”

Mohamed insisted that U.S. intelligence had “spy in the sky” satellites that were tracking Diana and Dodi and that’s where the shocking pregnancy news was discovered. He is reportedly working hard to get his hands on those tapes, which he claimed were “locked away in a climate-controlled vault at Fort Meade,” just outside of Washington, D.C. Mohamed has pleaded with the National Security Agency to give the tapes to British Royal Coroner Dr. Michael Burgess for further investigation into Diana’s death — and her alleged pregnancy.

It’s easy to fall down the rabbit hole of conspiracies because Diana’s death came at a time when she was writing a new chapter for herself — and it was unfulfilled. The Crown will touch upon that angle which “is likely to enrage the Prince of Wales, who has been upset by many Crown storylines that have featured his mother,” according to a source for The Sun. “Hearing the claims about his mother’s pregnancy and the plot will feel like salt in the wound, particularly as so many of them have been debunked over the years,” they added.

The royal drama begins on Nov. 16 with the first four episodes and then continues with the final six episodes on Dec. 14. It’s going to be a bumpy holiday season for the palace.
