‘Crowded’ Premiered and It’s Crowded With Talent

NBC’s newest comedy sitcom, Crowded, premiered Tuesday. It stars Seinfeld alum Patrick Warburton as Mike Moore and former True Blood star Carrie Preston as his wife, Martina. The two are just settling into life as empty nesters, until their daughters Stella and Shea move back in with them.

Shea is played by former Nickelodeon superstar Miranda Cosgrove, and the character is very bookish. Her older sister, Stella, is an aspiring actress who is struggling with her rise to fame. The two girls move back in because “being an adult is hard” and it “makes sense financially.”

The family gets even larger as Mike’s parents, played by Stacy Keach and Carlease Burke, forgo their move to Florida to stay with the newly reunited family.

Mike tries to guilt everyone into leaving with this toast: “First you’re a child, then you grow older, and eventually you leave home and stand proudly upon your own two feet, taking any job you can even if it’s not your dream, then you grow old and you move to Florida. Cheers.” But it becomes clear he’s stuck with the family — which may lead to this becoming one of America’s favorite sitcoms.
