Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs are teaming up for a new take on a cult classic.

On Wednesday, Lionsgate debuted new photos of Skarsgård, 33, and Twigs, 36, in The Crow, a remake of the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, who died in an accidental shooting on the movie's set at age 28 during production.

The Crow, based on a graphic novel series by author James O'Barr first published in 1989, follows a man named Eric (Skarsgård) who is resurrected after his murder in order to take revenge on those who killed him and his fiancée.

The photos show a tattooed Skarsgård wearing black eye makeup and a dark coat. Other stills show him and Twigs kissing by a fire.

"Soulmates Eric Draven and Shelly Webster are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them," reads a synopsis.

"Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right."

The Crow's 1994 movie marked the eighth film credit for late actor Brandon, son of Bruce Lee. Brandon's death came after a costar fired a prop gun on the set of The Crow. In a criminal investigation, the district attorney involved in the case declined to bring charges against the production company behind the movie. The film was completed after Brandon's death and released in May 1994.

“Obviously, it was a terrible tragedy, and it’s definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film,” Rupert Sanders, director of the new Crow movie, told Vanity Fair. “Brandon was an original voice and I think he will always be synonymous with The Crow, and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again."

"His soul is very much alive in this film," Sanders added. "There’s a real fragility and beauty to his version of the Crow, and I think Bill feels like he is a successor to that.”

Brandon's sister Shannon Lee marked the 30th anniversary of her brother's death back in April 2023 with a video posted on Bruce Lee's Twitter page.

"His beauty, his soul, his intelligence, his creativity is still alive with us, here with us," Shannon said at the time. "We are going to be finding ways to celebrate him and bring him further into the consciousness this year and every year going forward."
