Awards season journeys on with the Critics Choice Awards honoring the past year of television and film. The awards show was originally slated to kick off the season on January 9, but was delayed due to a surge in Covid-19 cases. Hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer, the gala aired live Sunday on The CW and TBS.

Topping the list of the Broadcast Film Critics Association's nominations are Belfast and West Side Story, each with 11 nods. On the Television Critics Association's side, Succession leads the charge with eight nominations.

By the end of the night, The Power of the Dog had wracked up four awards — including Best Picture and Best Director for Jane Campion — and Ted Lasso nearly swept the Comedy Series categories, winning Best Comedy Series for the second year in a row.

Presenters included Serena and Venus Williams, Mayim Bialik, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more. Jimmy Kimmel presented Billy Crystal with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Issa Rae presented Halle Berry with the sixth annual SeeHer Award.
