What was your first job out of college? Was it on ESPN’s NFL pregame show? If not, Jac Collinsworth has you beat.

Jac Collinsworth, son of former Cincinnati Bengals receiver and longtime NFL announcer Cris Collinsworth, will join ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” this fall, the network announced. Collinsworth recently graduated from Notre Dame, and said his college friends were shocked by the news.

“As sports junkies, we watched ESPN every day after class, so I think the opportunity stunned some of my buddies, as it did me,” Collinsworth said, according to ESPN’s release.

Collinsworth, following in his dad’s footsteps, did plenty of on-camera work at Notre Dame as he went to school there. He was “producing and hosting a weekly digital series at Notre Dame,” ESPN said, along with some other work behind and in front of the camera.

It’s a different hire for ESPN, which has generally loaded up its NFL studio shows with former players, former coaches or reporters who can offer breaking news like Adam Schefter or Chris Mortensen. Collinsworth is different from that group, and he’s also a lot younger than their normal hires. He’ll be doing regular features, ESPN said.

ESPN will have a new face on its pregame show, but the name will be familiar.
