In the above sneak peek from the episode “True North” (airing Wednesday at 9/8c), Tara (played by Aisha Tyler) pays her incarcerated colleague a visit, delivering bad news almost as soon as she arrives: there is no evidence that Mr. Scratch (or anyone) “dosed” Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) with anything in the Mexico motel room where Rosa Medina was found slain.
Tara then prompts Reid to once again revisit the altercation that left the pill-peddling doctor dead, as an unseen figure watched. Reid struggles to do so, until something begins to crystallize in his memory — for better, or for worse.
