The love between the Texas Rangers and Creed keeps growing. Following the news of the baseball team using the band’s music for motivation, all four members of Creed attended the Rangers’ home playoff game against the Houston Astros on Wednesday night (October 19th).

As previously reported, Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney revealed earlier this month that the team had been playing Creed’s music to get pumped up for games since the middle of the regular season. From there, things took off to the point where there was a stadium sing-along of “Higher” during the team’s series clincher against the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS.

In addition to sitting in the stands at Globe Life Field on Wednesday night and being seen on the Jumbotron during another stadium sing-along to “Higher,” the band members held a press conference in the middle of the game, where they expressed their gratitude toward the Rangers and their fans.

“I was just floored and excited that the music after all these years is still connecting with people, still inspiring folks,” said singer Scott Stapp. “And I’m grateful to be a part of the ride.”

At one point, one reporter asked the band members if they were actually Rangers fans, to which bassist Brian Marshall quipped, “Yeah, we’re Rangers fans — sorry, the Braves lost,” insinuating that he’s actually an Atlanta Braves fan. Stapp took a more diplomatic approach, saying, “We’re fans of sports, fans of baseball, and of course how can you not embrace a city that’s embraced us.”

Up until Wednesday night, the Rangers were undefeated in the postseason, having defeated the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles in series sweeps, and going up two games to none against the Astros in the ALCS. However, Creed’s presence wasn’t quite enough to keep the streak going, as the Astros won last night’s game 8-5.

Creed will be playing their first shows in more than a decade on a pair of Summer of ’99 cruises, setting sail from Miami and Orlando, respectively, next spring. Both cruises are completely sold out, but it looks like there might be more opportunities to see Creed next year.

As drummer Scott Phillips pointed out during the press conference, “We have a big announcement coming out in a couple weeks … there’s some Creed news on the horizon.” Perhaps a full-scale tour? A new album? We’ll find out soon.

See Creed’s full press conference below, followed by footage of the band participating in the sing-along and checking in from the stadium.
