CPAC Trump supporter dismisses Trump’s election lies: 'I gotta have the evidence'

CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan has been attending Trump rallies and interviewing supporters of the former president, getting their thoughts on the presidential election and the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Most answers are conspiratorial in nature and fit within the realm of far-right messaging. That’s why O’Sullivan was so shocked when he interviewed a man who goes by Grizzly Joe at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, Texas over the weekend.

“Do you accept Joe Biden won the election?” O’Sullivan asked. Joe bluntly answered, “Yeah.” A stunned O’Sullivan followed with, “So you are, you know, one of the very few people I am likely to meet here this weekend who will tell me that Biden won the election fairly.” “That's unfortunate,” Joe replied.

Joe’s main grievance is with the many claims Trump’s lawyers made while fighting the election results, failing in dozens of lawsuits. Joe specifically called out statements made by Sidney Powell, who described her litigation as “releasing the Kraken,” and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who has repeatedly, for months, claimed to have evidence that the election was stolen from Trump.

“I gotta have the evidence. I gotta see it. If you tell me you're gonna release the Kraken, show me the freakin’ Kraken for crying out loud. Show me the freakin’ Kraken. Show me a piece of the Kraken. Show me something,” Joe said. “And don't tell me to go to Mr. Pillow man's website to get the information, and I click on there and you get a million sites, ads pop up and I'm still not gonna see even a fingernail of the freakin’ Kraken.”

KYLIE MAR: CNN's Donie O'Sullivan was shocked by one Trump supporter at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas over the weekend who doesn't believe the former president is lies about the election being stolen. Most people Donie spoke to saw things differently.

DONIE O'SULLIVAN: What are you hoping to hear from Trump?

- That he is going to regain his rightful seat as president.

DONIE O'SULLIVAN: In 2024?

- No.

DONIE O'SULLIVAN: When?

- As soon as the election is overturned for the election fraud.

KYLIE MAR: The man who goes by "Grizzly Joe" took issue with the many promises Trump's lawyers made while fighting the election results without ever producing any real evidence.

GRIZZLY JOE: I got to have the evidence. I got to see it. If you tell me you're going to release the Kraken, show me the freaking Kraken for crying out loud. You know, show me the fricking Kraken, show me a piece of the Kraken. Show me something.

KYLIE MAR: And it seems Grizzly Joe has also grown tired of My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell's promises to provide evidence of election fraud.
