Courtney Stodden Evokes Her Miscarriage in PETA Plea to Free Orca

Courtney Stodden’s new video for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) isn’t easy to watch, especially considering that she suffered a miscarriage in July. The event was tragic for her and her husband, Doug Hutchison, but Stodden is hoping that she can assuage their loss by helping a captive animal.

In the video, she speaks out on behalf of Corky, an orca on display at SeaWorld who has lost all seven of her offspring.

Stodden is hoping that her story helps motivate the company to set the killer whale free. As she says in the video, “SeaWorld, take it from someone who has experienced great personal loss: Corky has suffered enough. Please do the right thing and let her go home.”

Stodden is a passionate advocate of PETA, and earlier this year, doused herself in fake blood to protest PetSmart’s treatment of animals. Several years ago, she filmed another PSA for the organization, promoting vegetarianism.
