Couple Says Home Has Tripping Hazards, Dirty Dishes Since Thanksgiving, Smoke Detectors Beeping For 2 Years

Lori and Bob say that seven years ago, they each moved out of their condominiums and into a house together – and they still haven’t unpacked. Now, they say they are living in a house filled with boxes, only a small path to walk, a kitchen sink filled with dirty dishes from Thanksgiving, and the only place they can sit is on two barstools. “Enter at your own risk,” Bob says. “Our smoke alarms are too difficult to get to to change the batteries. I can’t reach the smoke detectors. They’ve been beeping for two years,” Lori says. “We have a tripping hazard everywhere … It just isn’t safe.” How did this become Lori and Bob’s new normal? See what they tell Dr. Phil – and take a tour of their home – in the video above. On Wednesday’s episode, "Buried Alive in Clutter," hear who each says they partially blame for the mess in their home. And, find out how Dr. Phil offers to help them.
