One bride and groom got a hilarious surprise when they tried their wedding cake one year after their nuptials.

To celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary Andrea Estefania and her husband dug out what they thought was a piece of their wedding cake from the freezer, a tradition that many couples partake in to celebrate the occasion. After the dessert thawed, they dug in and immediately realized something was off about the favor.

"Is this carrot cake?" Estefania is seen asking her husband in a video she posted.

'Mmhm," her husband responded.

"That's what we chose?" she asked. "We didn't choose carrot cake for our wedding cake. I thought we chose amapola? We didn't choose carrot cake for our wedding cake."

When the video of the couple's reaction went viral, Estefania said in a follow-up TikTok that wedding guests reached out to her to let them know the couple did serve Amapola, a lemon poppy cake on their wedding day.

She explained how she and her husband had been so busy celebrating and dancing that night that they never had time to try the cake during the reception.

"We got married in Colombia and travel a ton and so my mother-in-law froze it for us and sent it to us in a luggage case to Florida where we live for our wedding anniversary," she said.

"Turns out that my mother-in-law just saved the wrong cake. The carrot cake was for my wedding rehearsal," Estefania continued. "Anyways it's so hilarious that this went viral."
