Jun. 1—I recall, years ago, a Mohegan Sun executive asking me for my "professional opinion." It seems Britney Spears — then the biggest pop star in the world — had sold out the Sun Arena in less time than it takes to type "Sun Arena."

Did I think Spears could sell out a second show?

Obviously, the artist's fee comes into play. Also, how much will tickets cost fans for the second show, and are there enough fans (who didn't see the first concert or want more) willing to pay that — enough to make it worth the Sun's while?

Of course, I was of no help because I said, "Britney who?"

I bring all this up because modern country star Kane Brown appears in the Sun Arena for shows Saturday and Sunday and no one had to ask if it was advisable to book two Kane Brown shows. I can't say Brown is the hottest country star in the world right now, but clearly he's a huge draw — and, indeed, his ongoing run of hits seems to be infinite at this point.

Kane Brown, 7 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Mohegan Sun Arena; with Walker Hayes and Raelynn; $60.50-$130.50; www.mohegansun.com.
