Country music star John Rich joins Fox Nation

John Rich is headed to Fox Nation.

The country singer, who’s partnered with the on-demand arm of Fox News in the past, will host a show called The Pursuit! With John Rich on the channel in February, Fox announced in a news release. Officials teased that the show would be filmed in Nashville, Tenn. and feature Rich’s friends and other guests who will “delve into their journey to achieving the American dream.”

In a statement, Rich said, “Joining FOX Nation is a new and exciting venture that I am looking forward to pursuing. Through my program, I hope to further connect with the FOX News family and continue to create meaningful content.”

In May, Rich, one half of the duo Big and Rich, released the song “Shut Up About Politics,” based on a conversation he had while having a drink with Fox News host Greg Gutfeld. He performed it on the network’s The Five, where Gutfeld appears as a co-host, and has pledged to give all the proceeds from it to Folds of Honor, an organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled American veterans.

“He said, ‘Man don’t you just get sick of hearing about politics all the time?’” Rich told reporters at a June media event in Nashville, per Taste of Country. “I said, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘I wish people would just shut up about it for a minute.’ I said, ‘Yeah me too — that sounds like a song!’”

Rich, who’s spoken out in support of President Donald Trump and veterans, also presented an award a Fox Nation’s Patriot Awards last month.

The streaming channel itself debuted in November 2018.

The news about Rich comes three months after Fox announced that former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has joined Fox News as a contributor.
