Country Music Highway Tribute Show upcoming

May 8—GREENUP — Three music events are planned this summer through Shaping Our Appalachian Region, with Addiction Recovery Care and Kentucky Power as presenting sponsors.

The Country Music Highway Tribute Shows will take place in Russell, Louisa and Ashland.

"We are thankful for the support of Addiction Recovery Care and Kentucky Power," Joshua Ball, chief operating officer at Shaping Our Appalachian Region, said. "An event of this caliber requires the support of communities and businesses, and the support of Addiction Recovery Care and Kentucky Power will allow us to not only put on a first-class event but also support organizations promoting music and the arts along the Country Music Highway."

The show launched two years ago at the Paramount Arts Center as part of the SOAR Mini Summit focused on downtown revitalization and tourism. Last year, SOAR made the event part of the organization's annual events strategy. The 2023 shows were in Paintsville, Whitesburg and Prestonsburg.

This year, events will include:

-June 1: Downtown Russell.

-July 13: Downtown Louisa.

-Aug. 2-3: Downtown Ashland.

Three Sisters Catering and Events, Masterpiece Kitchen and Masterpiece Cafe will be the the official food sponsor for performers, VIPs and sponsors. Torchlight Studio and Mountain Movers Theatre Company also will participate. All are part of ARC's enterprises.

In addition to free entertainment, the shows will feature local and regional food and artisan and crafts vendors.

The Country Music Highway Tribute Show is a collaboration between SOAR and tourism agencies and venues all along the Country Music Highway, including Boyd County Tourism and Convention Bureau, Visit AKY, the Paramount Arts Center, Lawrence County Tourism Commission, Paintsville Tourism, Prestonsburg Tourism, Elliott County Tourism the Mountain Arts Center, Pikeville Tourism, Pikeville/Pike County Tourism, the Appalachian Wireless Arena and Letcher County Tourism.
