Country Music Hall of Fame concert to celebrate Hank Williams' 100th birthday in Nashville

Hank Williams would have turned 100 on Sept. 17, and the month is shaping up to be an internationl celebration of the country music icon.

In Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame will host a special concert.

A smattering of events will take place in Montgomery, Alabama — where he lived, sang and is buried — including a wreath laying ceremony at his grave at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 17. The Alabama Senate proclaimed the date Hank Williams Day. But places as far away as New Jersey, Alaska and the United Kingdom will celebrate, as well.

The legendary songwriter died on New Year's Day in 1953 at the age of 29 while on his way to an appearance in Ohio.

Hank’s 100th: A concert in celebration of Hank Williams
