Country artist Mark Taylor to close out the 2024 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series

May 15—MOULTRIE — The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host country musician Mark Taylor, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at the Turner Center Art Park, 605 N. Patterson St.
The free, live performance is the last concert in the 2024 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series, sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation and the Price-Campbell Foundation.
Born in Virginia and raised in Maryland before finding his way to Nashville, Taylor's passion for music started at the age of 2, according to a press release from the Turner Center. Inspired by his father, a lifelong musician who paid his way through college as a classic rock artist, Taylor was already performing on stage by the age of 6 and touring the world by 13.
Taylor's music draws influences from The Allman Brothers Band, the Eagles, Jake Owen, Mitchel Tenpenny, and Thomas Rhett, and his soulful melodies and '90s country music-inspired style have earned him opportunities to open for country music icons like Big & Rich, Bryan White, Joe Nichols, Jon Pardi, and Russell Dickerson. He has also written songs for Amii Stewart and Whey Jennings, has received international airplay in Australia, Ireland, Switzerland, and the U.K, and was awarded the Harold Adamson Lyric Award for the 2023 ASCAP Foundation Annual Honors for his single "Dust Off That Dirt."
When he isn't making music and touring the world, Taylor is invested in entrepreneurial endeavors, including a recent partnership with CALI Distillery to produce his own brand of honey bourbon whiskey, Steel String Signature. Having proudly taken part in every step of the venture, from taste to name choice to design and packaging, Taylor said that the handcrafted product is "inspired by the steel strings I had in my hand for as long as I can remember," and hopes the taste will remind consumers of their favorite song.
