Country acts Tyler Rich, Halle Kearns coming to Christmas in Ida

IDA – Country acts Tyler Rich and Halle Kearns will perform Dec. 2 at the 41st annual Christmas in Ida Festival and Parade of Lights. The festival runs Dec. 1-3.

Rich will headline Saturday’s country concert at 5 p.m. Dec. 2. Kearns will open for Rich and also perform at the 4 p.m. Dec. 2 young country concert.

A public meet-and-greet with the stars of the young country concert will follow the concert in the Partners Tent. The concerts will take place in the heated outdoor Christmas in Ida Theater Center in the Ida Township Fire Department parking lot. Both concerts are free. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees also may bring their own chairs.

Other Saturday entertainment, including a new family show, begins at 12:15 p.m.

“The Friday night entertainment has been expanded with more stage entertainment and will be announced in a couple weeks,” Dale Zorn, event executive director, said.

Rich’s concert is presented by Mejier.

“Rich brings a new contemporary sound to country music with a strong voice and mixture of country twang with a pop feeling that delivers heartfelt romantic music,” the Christmas in Ida board said.

His songs include “Better Than You're Used To,” “Real Love,” “Bottom of This Bottle,” “Thinkin’ We're in Love,” “Radio” and “Trucks Don't Lie.”

His single “The Difference” has charted on Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay and was certified platinum by Music Canada and Gold in the U.S. by RIAA.

Rich has three No. 1 hits on SiriusXM’s The Highway with his debut album “Two Thousand Miles,” which included Gold-certified “The Difference.”

Born in rural Yuba City, California, Rich grew up with family singalongs and was a fan of Garth Brooks, George Strait and Alan Jackson. He earned a degree in economics, but then followed his love of music to Los Angeles and later to Nashville. His said his music is influenced by Creedence Clearwater Revival. He’s toured with Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore and Dan + Shay.

Kearns’ concert is presented by Monroe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Superstore.

A native of Columbia, Montana, Kearns made her country music debut in 2020. Her second EP, “Every Girl,” came out last year. She’s had more than 6.6 million global streams. Her debut EP “Finally” was released in 2020. Her single “Whatever You Do” is featured on Sirius XM’s The Highway.

“Every Girl” contains the song “Happy in This Bar,” which has more than 7 million global streams. The song’s video was played on CMT.

Anita’s Dance Center from Muskego, Wisconsin, is returning for the 15th year and will open for Kearns.

New this year is Saturday's Flurries for the Kids/Family Show, an interactive experience featuring music, games and prizes.
