'Counting On' Star Derick Dillard Has A Book About The Duggar Family In The Works

Jill Duggar's husband, Derick Dillard, may soon be spilling all the beans about the family at the center of TLC's reality show "Counting On." A fan tweeted at him, "Dude you could make some serious bank by writing a book. I know a ton of people that would buy that book pre-release! I mean, come on, you know that there is some crazy in that family!"

Dillard responded, "That’s the plan, but it will take longer to write because I do most of the outlining/writing on breaks from school."

Derick Dillard Is Defending His New Job

Dillard is currently a second year law student at University of Arkansas, so it seems the potential tell-all book won't come out until after he graduates.

Still, fans on Twitter were excited about the possibility of the book. "derick let me tell you right now. DON'T GIVE US A MARRIAGE BOOK, ETC. We want a tell all!!" one wrote.

"What if you had a ghostwriter to help things along? You have the stories, and someone else who has the time can match your writing voice and get stuff going," said another very eager fan.

"Strike while the iron is hot and write it now. Finish school after!" someone else suggested.

"I would actually donate money to support this endeavour," a fourth generous person replied.

It seems Dillard would have plenty to say about both the Duggars and TLC. A fan asked him if he asked the network to pay for a medical bill.

"I thought it was fair to ask in negotiating ... TLC made lots of money in filming a birth special episode, and they had not offered to pay us anything," he replied. "So I thought, at the very least, they could reimburse 5-10K for medical expenses. TLC sure made more than that off us."

Dillard was reportedly fired by TLC from "Counting On" in 2017 after making transphobic comments about fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. He denied that he was fired, and claims he quit.

TLC issued a statement about the incident at the time: "We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future. We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so."
