The Conservatives have an 80 seat majority then can pass the bill in a day and thens end it upstairs to the House of Lords who can vote it down, but after two such attempts they must then apss the bill because they are unable to hold it for a third time. I guess while you were an MP Mr Drew you did not study electoral procedure or how the two houses intermesh because the House of Commons has the superior powers when it comes to law making and the House of Lords cannot stop the will of the Commons without the risk of abolition or modification. So since the bill will be re introduced in the final remnants of this session there is every chance it will be law by mid January.
