Counterpoint: Experts debate whether building Trump's border wall will prevent illegal immigration

One of the biggest issues on President Trump's agenda is immigration reform, and his push to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border has many Americans divided.

In this week's episode of Counterpoint, a new AOL series, two experts debate the question: will the president's plan of building a wall significantly prevent illegal immigration?

The border wall -- a centerpiece of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign -- could cost upwards of $38 billion.

"We have to have an understanding that whether it's in the budget or some other vehicle in a very short period of time, the wall will be funded," Trump said in September. "Otherwise, we're not doing anything."
