There Could Be A Season 2 Of 'Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life'
Fans of Gilmore Girls had to wait almost a decade to find out what the beloved mother-daughter duo were up to, along with their friends and family.
When Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life finally premiered on Netflix, we all rejoiced, ecstatic at what was to come.
The revival, however, was panned by critics and viewers alike, with strange musical numbers, Rory's lack of job prospects, and all of us being left hanging with the final words, leaving a pretty open ending.

Amy-Sherman Palladino First Claimed There Would Not Be Another Season
Strangely enough, many viewers are still holding out for more of the Gilmore Girls, and their antics, hoping to see what happens as Rory navigates her pregnancy, and if she'll end up with Logan or Jess.
Amy-Sherman Palladino and Daniel Palladino have been denying their would be more to the series since it aired. In 2016, Amy told Vogue, “We didn’t go in there with any intention of wanting to do more. There were no discussions between us and Warner or us and Netflix of having anymore."
They Pitched The Revival As Close-Ended
She continued, "We all went through this journey thinking we just wanted to make it a very special event. So that really is where we are right now, because we’re so tired and exhausted and the kitchen still smells like butter.”
Amy reiterated this in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter saying, “We pitched this as close-ended. We pitched it as: ‘This is the year in the life. This is the way it was ending.’ … Netflix and Warner Bros., we all went into this sort of saying that this was it,” she said."
Things Appear To Have Changed In 2019
It appears the writers of Gilmore Girls have changed their tune from a couple of years ago.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter’s "TV’s Top 5 podcast," Amy seemed more open to the idea of continuing the story, saying, “We are absolutely open to do more. You know, I talk to Lauren constantly. And we’re very tight with Milo, Kelly, and Alexis. We’re tight with the Gilmore family."
She continued, “It’s not anything other than we need the right story, the right format, and the right timing. It’s nothing more than that, it’s not that we have it in our deal and Amazon will let us go do it."
Will We Finally Get To See Rory As A Mother?
She talked about the timing of things, giving fans some hope that if we keep the faith, another season might still go on.
She said, "So it’s not about anything other than it was sort of kismet the first time. And I feel like it needs to be kismet if we do it again.”
Fans of the show can only hope that by some miracle this kismet occurs and we will finally get to see Rory as a mother, and possibly end up with Jess.
