These Corpus Christi churches offer fish fries during Lent in 2024

Lent has begun and that means no meat on Fridays for many in the Corpus Christi area. These parishes in the Diocese of Corpus Christi serve up tasty seafood at fish fry fundraisers during the 2024 Lenten season.

Christ the King Catholic Church

Christ the King Catholic Church hosts their annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Ash Wednesday and every Friday through March 15, at 3423 Rojo St. Plates are $10 and include fish, French fries, coleslaw and hush puppies, and diners can add 2 shrimp for $1 and a drink for $1. Most Precious Blood Catholic Church

Most Precious Blood Catholic Church at 3502 Saratoga Blvd. hosts their dine-in or take-out fish fry fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. every Friday until March 22. Choose from a plate of fish, shrimp or a combo, all served with French fries, hush puppies and coleslaw for $12. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church also holds a fish fry every year at 5830 Williams Drive. Diners can order a fish plate or a shrimp plate, which includes sides of French fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies all for $12. Add-ons are also available, with two crab cakes for $5, mac and cheese for $3, capirotada for $3, or a gallon of tea for $4. Orders area available for take-out and drive-thru from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday and 3-7 p.m. every Friday through March 22. All proceeds benefit the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy. St. Andrew by the Sea

Join St. Andrew by the Sea Catholic Church for their annual fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the Family Life Center at 14238 Encantada Ave. Enjoy a plate of fried fish with French fries, green beans and coleslaw. St. John the Baptist Catholic Church

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 7522 Everhart Road offers drive-thru fish fry plates on the city’s Southside, cooked up by the Knights of Columbus Council 13250. Plates include fried fish, French fries, hush puppies and coleslaw for $12. Plates are available for pickup in the church’s parking lot from 5-7 p.m. every Friday through March 22. St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church

St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church’s annual fish fry returns at 710 S. 19th St. Order a plate of fried fish or fried shrimp or a combination of both, along with fries, homemade coleslaw, buttered corn, and a slice of bread. All orders come with the signature homemade tartar sauce. Plates are $13 and can be picked up in the church’s gym drive through or delivery (must order 5 or more plates for free delivery). Meals are served from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, and then from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. every Friday through March 22. St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 2233 Waldron Road in Flour Bluff has fish fry plates available served by the Knights of Columbus Council 8170. Plates are $12 and diners can select fish, shrimp or a combination of both. Sides are coleslaw, green beans and French fries, and all plates include a dessert and a choice of tea or lemonade. The fish fry will be from 4-6:30 on Ash Wednesday and every Friday through March 22, and is available as dine in or pick up. St. Theresa Catholic Church

St. Theresa of the Little Flower Parish at 1302 Lantana Street near Up River Road has a fish fry fundraiser. Diners can get fish, shrimp, two sides and tea for $12 a plate, plus capirotada for $2 a serving. Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at 3210 S. Padre Island Drive hosts its Lenten Fish Fry by the Knights of Columbus Council 5919 from 4-7 p.m. every Friday through March 22. Plates are available drive through only at the Msgr. Kasper Youth Center at the church. Plates include fried fish, French fries, coleslaw and a roll for $10.
