Slipknot singer Corey Taylor had the honor of singing the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song with actor Tom Kenny, who provides the voice for the popular cartoon character. The performance took place over the weekend at the Huntington Comic and Toy Convention  in West Virginia.

Taylor is no stranger to the SpongeBob theme song, having performed it numerous times during his solo shows over the years. However, after being introduced by Kenny, the Slipknot frontman told the crowd, “This is the most nervous I’ve ever been in my whole career.”

Backed by a full band, Taylor and Kenny traded verses on the infectious theme song, getting the crowd to chant the call-and-response “SpongeBob SquarePants” line throughout the outdoor performance.

There’s a good chance Taylor will perform the SpongeBob theme during his upcoming US solo tour, which launches August 25th in Denver. Tickets are available here.

The singer will be out in support of his sophomore solo album, CMF2, which arrives on September 15th.
