Corey Feldman (‘The Masked Singer’ Seal) on partying with Jenny, ‘Stand By Me’ memories and how he would have ‘crushed’ Billy Joel Night [Exclusive Video Interview]

“It’s always fun as an actor coming out as an alter identity where you’re fully immersed in it,” says Corey Feldman, who was unmasked as Seal on “The Masked Singer” Thursday night. “You get to actually play into the character. The great banter that was improvised on the stage was all improvised. It’s not like you know what you’re gonna say or what they’re going to say. It keeps you on your fins. Feldman reveals the most difficult part of the process for him was watching the songs other people got to do. “Why didn’t I get to do ‘Billy Joel Night’?!” he exclaims. “I would have crushed ‘Billy Joel Night!’ If I could have done ‘The Stranger’ instead of ‘It’s Tricky” I think I probably would have done a little better in the competition.”

As Seal, Feldman sang “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips on “Girl Group Night” and “It’s Tricky” by Run D.M.C. on “The Soundtrack of My Life Night.” Panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg quickly guessed his identity, having partied with the star in the past. “I’ve known Jenny for a long time,” he explains. “I’ve done her shows many times, I’ve been on her podcast, we’ve just done a lot of stuff together through the years. The first time I met her was at the Playboy Mansion, but it didn’t matter because I was married.” He adds, “Everybody threw afterparties. She rolled up in a limousine with all these high roller power players and I was like, ‘Okay, I didn’t know you were bringing all these people to my house, but that’s cool!'”
The actor also reminisces about one of his classic films, “Stand By Me.” He says the summer he shot that movie he “became a man” and started making his own decisions. One of those choices was to become a vegetarian, which he had learned about from co-star River Phoenix and Phoenix’s family. “Having the influence of River and his family helped that happen,” he explains. “Going and being on my own, away from my grandparents, away from my parents, I was able to instill those idealisms and put them in play. I choose to become a vegetarian and that’s my first adult decision. That was a coming of age for me. That moment in time was very powerful for all of us.”
