Corbin Bleu Reveals the Moment 'Everything Went Blurry' While Looking Back on Wedding with Sasha Clements (Exclusive)

The actor tells PEOPLE that his wife makes him feel "like every day is worth living"

Corbin Bleu is looking back on his wedding day with Sasha Clements as their eight-year anniversary nears.

When asked about the 2016 nuptials, the actor — who is starring in the hit Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors opposite two-time RuPaul's Drag Race champ Jinkx Monsoon through Sunday, May 26 — tells PEOPLE about his favorite memory from that day.

"We had an epic wedding," Bleu, 35, recalls. "If I really had to break it down, it's the moment that I saw her right before she walked down the aisle. That moment is a core memory."

The former High School Musical star felt as though "the world shifted" upon Clement’s entrance — which saw her donning a custom Pnina Tornai gown. "Everything went blurry outside of her," Bleu says.

Bleu and Clements, 34, tied the knot on July 23, 2016 at Hummingbird Nest in Santa Susana, Calif. The two first started dating in 2011 after meeting in a Toronto grocery store. The couple then got engaged at Disney World in October 2014.

"We've been together for 13 years now," Bleu tells PEOPLE. "She makes me feel like every day is worth living. I mean, she's sweet, she's smart, she's giving, she's caring."

"She loves me for who I am, and everything. I know I can be my complete self around her, and vice versa. She's just my person. That's my soulmate," the actor adds.

In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, Bleu described watching Clements walk down the aisle in more detail. "From the flowing veil in the wind as she walked, to the big smile on her face, it suddenly hit me that this stunning woman that was looking at me was going to marry me and make me the happiest man in the world," he shared.

The nuptials took place in front of 160 guests and the couple’s first dance was a salsa number choreographed by Bleu’s Dancing with the Stars partner, Karina Smirnoff.

Clements, an actress, reflected on her relationship with Bleu in an Instagram post last July in celebration of their seven-year wedding anniversary. “7 years married! Feels like a blink,” she wrote.

The two rang in the occasion with a trip to Mystic, Conn., where they visited the aquarium and other sights in the area. "C has been in rehearsals and shows all day and night so it was nice to have this beautiful day off together," Clements wrote about her husband.

She added, "Mystic was so charming and adorable! We’re def going back for another date. Also, trying not to make this caption cheesy but I love this guy a lot."
