Copperhead Road Landmark unveiling, Music Fest through Memorial Day Weekend

BUTLER, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Johnson County Tourism Office will host a Music Fest over Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate the unveiling of the Copperhead Road Landmark, the office announced in a release.

Inspired by Steve Earle’s “Copperhead Road,” the landmark will honor the song’s local connection. The release said the design focuses on a customized 1949 Dodge Sedan and a mural from Bluegrass star Tim White. Tickets are not required to attend the unveiling.

The Music Fest will welcome performances from Tim White and Troublesome Hollow, and the Twang Bangers. There will be food and drinks, and attendees will receive Copperhead Road souvenirs. The release said camping chairs are recommended.

Due to limited seating, tickets will be required to enter the Music Fest. Those interested in purchasing a ticket can do so here. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Museum of Butler Tennessee.

Friday, May 24 – Watauga Lake Winery

  • 12:30 p.m. – Landmark Unveiling and Ribbon Cutting

  • 1:30 p.m. – Private Reception for Invited Guests

  • 4:00 p.m. – Doors Open for Music Fest

  • 5:00 p.m. – Julie & Willie

  • 6:00 p.m. – Edward Main

  • 7:00 p.m. – Tim White and Troublesome Hollow

Saturday, May 25 – Watauga Lake Winery

  • 4:00 p.m. – Doors Open for Music Fest

  • 5:00 p.m. – Natosha Tolley

  • 6:00 p.m. – Tim Nave

  • 7:00 p.m. – Twang Bangers

Sunday, May 26 – Villa Nove Vineyards

  • 2:00 p.m. – Julie & Willie
