Cookie Comes Out Swinging on 'Empire' Midseason Premiere

During the midseason premiere of Empire, things got off to a fiery start as Lucious launched his new project "Inferno" without Cookie's co-CEO blessing. But Cookie had some tricks up her sleeve for this family war and when she brought Lucious' confused mother up on stage the media at the event seemed shocked. With Jamal recovering at a rehab center the family went to offer support, but things immediately got ugly with Lucious and Cookie arguing over whose fault it was that Jamal was at the center in the first place. Rumer Willis guest starred as Tory Ash, another rehab patient that Jamal later bonds with over their love of music. In addition to those dramas, Andre went on to make some not so idle threats that he was planning on killing Lucious and Nessa and Tiana came to blows after they each tried to outshine the other performing at a concert. But perhaps the biggest eyebrow raiser was Lucious appointing his new wife Anika as head of A&R, leaving Cookie to work out some major feels that she ultimately channeled into destroying all of Lucious' possessions with a baseball bat. She even got in one good whack to Lucious' head. After shattering every piece of glass available, she thrashed a grand piano and then she and Lucious momentarily turned that rage into passion with a make-out session on the piano, but Cookie cut it off saying, "No. I said I was done with you. I meant that."
