Building on the brand’s ever-evolving DNA, Converse has unveiled three new silhouettes based around the ideas of utility, versatile comfort, and edgy styling. Dubbed the Chuck 70 AT-CX, Run Star Legacy and Chuck Lugged 2.0 CC HI, each sneaker combines the iconic design codes of the 67-year-old Chuck Taylor with innovative and experimental design concepts.
Inspired by Converse’s outdoor heritage, the Chuck 70 AT-CX has been designed to deliver a bold stance and lightweight comfort, powered by CX foam. Serving as a modern ode to the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star, which was re-crafted in 2013, standout details include the toe cap, which takes inspiration from the BOSEY MC—an archival 1950s wading boot—as well as a diamond pattern outsole which has been designed to help better navigate the city streets as the seasons change.
Similarly, the Run Star Legacy CX draws from the popular Run Star Hike and Run Star Motion silhouettes, and boasts an exaggerated rubber design as well as a magnified heel bumper for easy on-off wearability. The Lugged 2.0 CC X HI rounds out the offering, and builds on Converse’s Lugged line, which was first introduced in 2019. Taking its cues from previous weatherised styles, the updated model features layers of rubber and woven fabric intended to help enable utility, as well as a reinforced leather collar which provides increased protection at the ankle. Other features include a waterproof upper, internal bootie with fleece lining, lugged rubber outsole, industrial hardware and hiking-inspired laces that add an element of style.
