Constance Wu addresses rumors of her diva behavior on 'Hustlers' set

Constance Wu is addressing a Page Six report that she was a "difficult diva" on the set of her new movie "Hustlers," which also stars Jennifer Lopez.

Constance Wu is addressing those diva rumors.

The actress, 37, made the headline of a Page Six report earlier this week that alleged she was a "difficult diva" on the set of her new movie "Hustlers" and insisted she get top billing for her role.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, Wu dismissed the reports.

"We made this film with an incredible spirit of sisterhood and love," the statement read. "Any reports otherwise have felt like an age-old attempt to pit us against each other and knock us down when, in truth, we had the best time making this! We won't be knocked down. We will continue to share and celebrate this story together, as sisters. Thank you to all the fans for believing in us and supporting this film."

Wu's rep also refuted the report in a statement to the outlet.

"While Constance's character in Hustlers is the key protagonist, any reporting that implies or indicates that she demanded or directed this recently reported initiative is patently untrue and a clear manipulation of facts," the statement read. "She has always been and remains a proud supporter of all her fellow castmates inclusion in the celebration of this film and telling of this story."

USA TODAY has reached out to Wu's rep for comment.

It's not the first time Wu has been portrayed in a negative light.

In May, the star of "Fresh off the Boat" issued two unhappy tweets, each underlined with an expletive, less than an hour after the ABC comedy was renewed for a sixth season.

Wu had a change of heart a couple of hours later, sending another tweet expressing her gratitude for the renewal and pride in working on the show.

"I love FOTB. I was temporarily upset yesterday not bc (sic) I hate the show but bc (sic) its renewal meant i had to give up another project that I was really passionate about," she wrote at the time. "So my dismayed social media replies were more about that other project and not about FOTB."

She also apologized for her ill-timing and "insensitive" words.

"I do regret that and it wasn't nice and I am sorry for that," she wrote.

"Hustlers" opens Sept. 13. The film also stars Jennifer Lopez, Lili Reinhart, Cardi B and Lizzo.
