Audiences have gotten to know the Conners over a long time, first in the late 80s/early 90s sitcom Roseanne and now with the sequel series The Conners. The popular TV family is back with The Conners season 5.

Even after losing Roseanne Barr (her character was killed off following controversy surrounding the actress/comedian), The Conners have proved to be an iconic TV family thanks to the characters that were first introduced all those years ago to new members of the family that have been added throughout The Conners’ run.

What lies in store for the TV family? Here is everything we know about The Conners season 5.

When is the next The Conners season 5 episode?

The Conners is all new on Wednesday, October 19, with the latest episode airing at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. Here is the official synopsis for this week's episode, titled "A Little Weed and a Bad Seed":

"Problems arise on Beverly Rose’s first day of kindergarten, and Becky and Darlene have a disagreement that leads to further turmoil. Elsewhere, Harris advises an unusual solution for Dan’s back pain."

Fans can catch up with all the latest episodes of The Conners on Hulu, as new episodes join past seasons of the sitcom on the streaming service the day after they air.

The Conners, at this time, is not available for UK audiences.

Who is in The Conners cast?

Many of the actors that originally appeared on Roseanne are still at the heart of the sequel series, as John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert and Lecy Goranson all reprise their roles.

Michael Fishman, who played DJ in both Roseanne and The Conners, is exiting the show ahead of season 5, though TV Line reports that his exit is being left open ended, leaving the possibility that he could return.

Goodman plays the Conner patriarch Dan Conner, with Sara Gilbert and Lecy Goranson playing the Conner kids Darlene and Becky all grown up. Metcalf once again plays aunt Jackie Harris.

There is also a new generation of Conners that are part of the principal cast. They include Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy and Jayden Rey as Mary Conner. Rey is no longer going to be a series regular, as her character played the daughter of Fishman's DJ Conner, though she is expected to appear on occasion as a guest star.

There have also been a few additions to the Conner family through marriage, which means the likes of Jay R. Ferguson’s Ben, Katey Sagal’s Louise and Nat Faxon’s Neville should all be back.

What is The Conners season 5 plot?

The Conners centers on the titular family and how they have grown since the passing of Roseanne. In season 4 that included a lot of the characters getting married — Dan to Louise, Sara to Ben and Jackie to Neville — and one who didn’t walk down the aisle, Harris and her boyfriend Aldo.

Here is the official synopsis for The Conners season 5 episode 1, "Double Honeymoon and Seeing Double":

"In an effort to save money, newlyweds Darlene and Ben, and Jackie and Neville head off on their joint honeymoon, where their cost-saving measures contribute to a tension-filled getaway. Elsewhere, Dan, Becky, Harris, Mark and Beverly Rose head off for a night at a waterpark, where Harris and Mark bond in an unexpected way as Mark copes with the news that his ex-boyfriend is dating someone else."

Is there a The Conners season 5 trailer?
