'Conjuring 2' Trailer: The Kids Are Not All Right

Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren are back in The Conjuring 2 to explore another frightening haunting — and this time, the ghosts have come to London. The sequel to The Conjuring, which opened to huge box office in 2013, features the return of stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, as well as director James Wan (the horror mastermind behind Saw and Insidious). Based on the actual case files of the Warrens, whose supernatural investigations also inspired the films The Amityville Horror, The Haunting in Connecticut, and Annabelle, the Conjuring sequel involves the case of a single mother whose home and four children are pursued by malicious spirits. Judging from the trailer, those spirits have a similar agenda to the vengeful ghost in the first film: shattering windows, messing with wall decor, whispering to children, and inhabiting creepy toys (last time a jack-in-the-box, this time a zoetrope). Will The Conjuring 2 be able to scare up the same opening-weekend numbers? We’ll find out when the film premieres in theaters on June 10.
