US Representative Lauren Boebert was removed from a Denver showing of the Beetlejuice musical over the weekend. But it wasn’t the far-right Coloradan’s persistent belief in conspiracy theories, blatant opposition of LGBTQ+ rights, or weird obsession with firearms that got her kicked out of the play — venue officials accused her of vaping, singing, recording, and “causing a disturbance.”

An official report from Denver Arts & Venues obtained by the Denver Post says that two attendees were escorted out of Denver’s Buell Theatre during the touring Broadway production. The report adds that the patrons were first given a warning during intermission after three other audience members complained about their behavior.

What the report doesn’t say, however, is who was stripped of their privilege to see Beetlejuice. Thankfully, Boebert’s campaign manager Drew Sexton stepped in to clear the air in a statement to NBC News: “I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of Beetlejuice, which the Denver Post itself described as ‘zany’, ‘outrageous’, and a ‘lusty riot.'”

Sexton added that Boebert “appreciates the Buell Theatre’s strict enforcement of their no photos policy and only wishes the Biden Administration could uphold our border laws as thoroughly and vigorously.” Kind of a counterproductive metaphor, considering Sexton also confirmed Boebert had taken a photo during the play.

Luckily for us, local news outlets have released some security footage of the incident for our entertainment. There’s no sound, but something’s telling us that Boebert is spewing a whole lot of nonsense as she hesitantly departs the venue. Watch it below.

Boebert is currently gunning for a third term as the US representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district. Meanwhile, Tim Burton is just about finished with production on his long-awaited Beetlejuice sequel film — but the ongoing Hollywood strikes means we’ll have to wait even longer.
