UPDATE: Ollie's has moved the estimated opening timeline to August 9, 2023, and appeared to be hiring for several management positions in mid-May. The location will be next to Planet Fitness at 5005 Marsha Sharp Freeway West.

Initial article: Lubbock area residents looking for a bargain are in luck this year, as one of the largest bargain outlets has confirmed that they will open in Lubbock this spring.

Ollie's Bargain Outlet, a 1980s business dedicated to selling "good stuff cheap," has been rapidly expanding over the last decade. The outlets purchase overstocked items from companies and "pass the savings" to their customers, according to the company website. Stores typically have clothes, home goods, furniture, toys and more.

"We are tentatively scheduled to open in Lubbock, TX in mid May of 2023," said Rachael Feuchtenberger, a company customer service representative. "We hope to see you there!"

Feuchtenberger mentioned the real estate department is working on the location, and could not announce it as of this week. More details about a grand opening will be released closer to the opening date.
