A Condition Called Love episode 5 recap

The episode starts with Hotaru’s coworker, Satamora, asking to be introduced to Hananoi. The following day, Hotaru asks Kyo and Shinobu for advice, and they are convinced she has ulterior motives. After noticing Hananoi didn’t have many friends, Hotaru asks if he wants to try making a friend. However, Hananoi says that friends are a waste of time. Moreover, he only has two hands to protect those who are important to him.

While Hotaru continues to ponder how to deal with the situation with Hananoi and Satamora, her sister advises her to pick whoever is truly important to her. After noticing her distant attitude, Hananoi tricks Hotaru into spending time together and discovers the reason. He then decides to share the news with Satamora to avoid problems for her. Later, Hotaru tells Satamora that Hananoi is her boyfriend, which the latter admires.

Hotaru and Hananoi go on a date, and the former plans the whole event. They return to the bench where they first met, and Hananoi reveals his insecurities to her. Hotaru assures him that she cares about him and realizes she likes him.
