In a resounding acknowledgment of Tucson's allure, Conde Nast Traveler named it the number one destination on its list of "The Best Places to Go in North America & the Caribbean in 2024."

Despite celebrating the city's multifaceted charm, which blends cultural richness, historical significance and the captivating beauty of the Sonoran Desert, the magazine misspelled the name in its (now corrected) headline.

Setting aside that blunder, the recognition of Arizona's southern city on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'odham and Pascua Yaqui tribes as a must-visit destination is well-deserved, with the article spotlighting the revitalized downtown.

Barrio Viejo, a culturally rich neighborhood that's slated to receive a National Historic Landmark designation in 2024, is a highlight thanks to the historic buildings that have transformed into all-day cafés, restaurants and shops and the restoration of the 1915 Teatro Carmen, Tucson's oldest performing arts venue.

The article recommends spending a day shopping for hand-glazed tiles at Carly Quinn Designs, enjoying a mesquite cold brew at Exo Roast Co. and learning about agave spirits at Crisol Bar.

Tucson is also home to the Saguaro National Park, which is Arizona’s first Urban Night Sky Place, making it the perfect spot for stargazing and skywatching.
